The bolo, similar to the machete and kukri, is a large cutting tool of Filipino origin, used in the Philippines, the jungles of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, as well as in the sugar cane fields of Cuba. Its main use is in agriculture to clear vegetation; It is also used in Filipino martial arts or Arnis as part of training.
The bowling pins are characterized by having handles made of hard wood or animal horn, a full tang and a curved steel blade that expands towards the tip in a pronounced way, with the center of gravity at the end of the blade, something very suitable for cutting.
It was also used as a weapon, like a sword, in the Philippine revolutionary struggles.
