Name that means HALCON. Born to the beautiful Lady of the Lake, the great druid Hafgan, from whom Merlin would learn all his magic, predicted that The great Lord of Light had been born. He learned to be a great warrior from his grandfather, tireless defender of the empire.

He became Merlin, a warrior, druid, and faithful advisor to Uther, supreme monarch of Britain. Upon the death of Uther without a legitimate heir, Merlin buried his sword Excalibur in a solid rock and shouted to the people:
You ask for a sign, he who draws the sword from the rock will be the true King of all England.
Merlin then took charge of the education of Arthur, Uther's bastard son, teaching him all the arts necessary to be a good monarch and hiding him until the time came to extract the sword Excalibur from the rock and become King of England.

When concord and peace reigned throughout Britain, Merlin retired to his abode.
“You can continue reigning without my advice, continue being a just king and the future will speak of you.”
Merlin was a Welsh magician who supposedly lived in the 6th century, and is one of the central figures of the Arthurian cycle. Another hypothesis is that Merlin does not refer to a person but to a title, such as the title of druid.

He is the most famous magician in European history, and the inspiration for many magicians in universal literature.

According to the Breton specialist Jean Markale, Merlin is a multifaceted figure who personifies different archetypes of the Celtic mythical world; such as the druid, the Bard, the wild man, the shaman and the prophet.
