Alfred Hutton was an English master-at-arms and proponent of the French school of fencing, who did much to modernize saber technique. Hutton is recognized for breathing new life into the sport of fencing after it had fallen into the category of anachronistic activities.
The Hutton Saber has a stainless steel guard and a handle imitating shark skin covered in wire. The blade and hilt of the Hutton saber are closer to the style of the military saber. The blade is somewhat shorter and lighter, with a rounded tip for safe practice.
