The Shamshir is the Persian saber par excellence and is a word that in Persian means "curved like the lion's claw", alluding to its stylized blade that curves from its first third with a sharp and piercing tip.
One-handed weapon and cross of short hawks. In Europe, the Shamshir of the East was known as the Scimitar. Due to its immense quality and cutting capacity, it was used in cavalry troops.
Its excellent blades forged with high-tech metallurgy for the time, with Damascus steel of enviable Eastern manufacture, with the unmistakable "Damasquino" style that in the West was only made in Toledo, city of the Three Cultures.
