Sword scabbards are specific to each type of sword and we do not recommend using a scabbard for another sword that is not the type of yours. The scabbard of a sword is the protective cover on which the sword rests and therefore must be adjusted to the exact size of the sword.

In straight blade swords we can standardize and adapt the length of a type of sheath. This is what we do according to the following model that we serve in sheets with a maximum of 80 cm. long and 6 cm. wide …

The opening of the sheath through which the blade is inserted is called the throat and is part of the entire mount of the sheath itself, in which it has a hook or a ring that facilitates the entry of the sword. In leather sheaths it is usually protected by a metal tip on which the tip of the sword blade rests. The sheath, whether metal or leather, provides extra protection through an extension called a wedge or shoe.

Sword sheaths are usually complemented with other elements necessary to carry them. Adapters for belts, baldrics and belts that can also match. Not all sheaths are for use on belts. There are those that do not have a hook and are exclusively for decorative use.

Custom sheaths are the perfect solution for other swords that, due to their characteristics, either because the blade is not straight or because of the volume of the handle, for example bow swords, require a sheath completely customized to their needs.
