Description

The Kettle medieval helmet, Kappalin model, is an ideal piece for historical reenactment, Living History, LARP, medieval fairs, and theatrical or audiovisual productions. Its design reproduces the characteristic wide-brimmed helmet used by infantry soldiers and warriors during the Middle Ages. Its sober appearance makes it easy to pair with tunics, chainmail, and various medieval armor ensembles.

Also known as an Eisenhut or iron hat, this type of helmet was common in medieval Europe due to its practical shape and broad brim. The extended brim is its most distinctive feature and helps protect the head, offering additional coverage around the face and shoulder area. Throughout the 15th century, these helmet designs evolved and gave rise to other variants, such as the sallet, with changes to the brim shape and rear protection.

To make it easier to wear, the Kettle Kappalin Helmet includes a leather inner lining and an adjustable chin strap made of the same material. These elements help tailor the fit to the wearer and provide a more comfortable hold. It’s a suitable option for reenactors looking to complete their outfit as well as for collectors and enthusiasts of medieval military history.
