Description
These Gothic gauntlets replicate the hand protection typical of plate armor from the late Middle Ages. Their distinctive feature is the combination of complete black leather gloves with numerous articulated steel plates, a proposition designed to complete a medieval armor, enrich a collection, or add visual presence to a historical characterization.
Each finger is covered by overlapping individual plates, while other pieces protect the back of the hand and the joints. This construction retains the segmented appearance characteristic of the Gothic style. The large, pointed knuckles extend the silhouette over the wrist and forearm; heart-shaped perforations and relief ornamental lines add recognizable details for display, recreation, or costume.
The interior includes leather gloves to which the metal pieces are attached, as well as a strap at the wrist to help keep each gauntlet in place. They are supplied as a pair and are only available in large size. The steel is not stainless and may show slight surface alterations, thus requiring periodic maintenance with an appropriate oil for steel, such as Ballistol Universal Oil. Specifications may vary slightly between units.
